The Kenya Association of Manufacturers in partnership with Trademark Africa through funding by UK International Development is organizing a Trade and Investment mission to Goma, DRC with the aim of making contacts with both government and businesses of Goma DRC, explore trade and investment opportunities and in turn enhance export market development for manufacturers and their value chains.
Goma is home to over 2 million people and the 20th fastest growing city in the world due to its young and growing population, rising middle class, increased investment in infrastructure growing demand for consumer goods and a gate way to other cities in DRC because of its proximity to other neighboring countries such as Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania. It is also a major transportation hub with an international airport and is connected to other cities in the region by land and air.
Kenyan products benefit from duty exemptions or preferential tariffs in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) under regional trade agreements such as the East African Community (EAC), Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).
